I want a really cool rifle, I don't know much about them, whats good, whats bad. Money isn't an issue and its not going to be for much more than a fun gun to go to the range and a hell of a conversation piece. Pictures would be appreciated with a description of what it is.

I think that the rifle RonE is making fits your description. You could try to make one, or see if he would ever sell his.

I'd have to eat bread and water for twenty years to afford it, but I like that .700.

I must not have any class. I think it's kinda homely. I also have no intentions of hunting hippos in Africa.

I'd be happy with a Barret M82A1.

global247:

Do you like "black" rifle? I.e. assault rifles?

Do you like wood and steel rifles? I.e pretty wall-hangers?

Are you recoil sensitive?

Do you want to be able to fire a round with each pull of the trigger?

Do you want to fire 30 rounds with one pull of the trigger (where legal and with proper Fed Stamp)?

Do you want to have to manipulate a bolt each time to fire?

More info is need to help direct you. There are hundreds of rifle combination when coinsidering firearm type, manufacturer, and calibers.

See, thats the trouble with recommending a Price no object, Off-the-scale cool factor, Hell of a conversation piece rifle.

Bound to be somebody come along that doesn't agree with me!

Agreed.

Cool is subjective. My coolest rifle is my Kimber Gov't Model 82 .22LR. I wouldn't sell it for $2,000.00 because I doubt I could find another this accurate.

Then, someone else would come along and retort, "You piad $600.00 for that piece of trash?! I thought you were dumb. Don't think it anymore. You just confirmed it". :banghead:

Can't please everyone.

Barrett M82A1 .50 BMG. Semi-automatic, 10 round capacity, accurate to 2000 meters. Asking price on those, IIRC, is around $8000, and the ammo goes for around $5 a pop. Definitely a conversation starter, and won't put you in the poor house like rcmodel's suggestion will (unless, of course, you shoot it a LOT). :D

Regolith has a good idea, if you want a conversation starter, but you can start similar conversations more cheaply ;)

For instance, with a Bohica AR upper, you could be shooting .50 cal for something closer to $1000, if you already have a lower to play with.

Of course, your price goes up if you want to have more than one shot of .50 on hand ;)

jerkface wins.

Without a doubt, the 20mm wins. Close close 2nd place to the GE mini-gun. Honorable mention to the .700 nitro double rifle and Quad-Ma Duece. The rest are pretty much also-rans. :p

Which one you runnin with, global? :)

Tangent: What licenses are required to buy the 20mm? Is is the $200 stamp like an SBR/SBS or what?

One of my supervisor's rifles. She has access to the cool stuff.
This one is a full dress k31, 70 year old solid moa rifle. Nothing auto, just a ton of fun and a range conversation maker.
