Any Cooper owners here? Looking for experienced opinions. I'm considering a used single shot M21 in 223 and haven't seen to many reviews. Although the Cooper reviews I've seen and read have been good.
This is it. It was built for a guy with physical issues, hence the big compensator to keep the barrel still.

If you associate quality with cost, then Cooper products are some of the best. I shot a Cooper .308 at a range years ago (4x) as offered by the owner sitting at the bench next to me. The gentleman was having zeroing problems, he saw my target and assumed that I was a decent shot - asked for help. I shot three rounds that (I remember) hit high and left, adjusted his scope - the fourth round hit at (about) 2 o’clock in the “X” ring - he was good to go. He again began shooting and was all over the target - him not the rifle. As for the rifle, he told me what was paid (I do not remember the $) and I thought that was a lot for what appeared to be an unremarkable rifle. It shot well enough but the wood looked very average to me for the high cost. Well, that is all I can remember about my exposure to my first and only Cooper rifle. Good luck with your choice.

This one is certainly affordable. What I'm wondering about is the quality of the build.
I don't mind an unremarkable look if it's a quality piece.

If you like it and it calls you; if it is priced right, I would suggest you buy the rifle or you will be haunted - it is only money. Good luck.

That's one thing I've noticed, the quality of the wood really went down as time went on, and the price went up...

Personally, I don't think the new ones are worth what they are asking for them. Used is another matter, only you know if it's worth to you, what someone wants for a used one...
