Coronado or Roma Leather concealment vests

Has anyone tried these? Will they carry a full size 1911, or do you have to carry a light weight compact pistol? I found these online and they look pretty nice, but do they work?

I have a Coronado "Classic Snap" vest. I use it when I'm riding the motorcycle. I usually carry a Kahr MK9 in my back Levi pocket (palm to butt), however, I'm not comfrortable with back pocket carry on the bike.

The Coronado vest has sewn-in elastic loops, which are intended to hold the slide of a full-size auto. I have carried my S&W 4506 in this vest. It works better if you have something in the opposite side to counter-ballance the weight. (Spare mag, wallet, etc..)

The Kahr MK9 is so small, that when I use the Coronado vest, the slide and trigger guard both go down inside the elastic band. It is snug, and I don't see a problem, but I exercise extreem caution when putting the Kahr into the vest.

BTW, the leather and construction of the Coronado is of very good quality. (And they're not even paying me for this commercial!)

Yeah, they're nice alright...

If I was going to buy a leather vest, one of the Coronado models would be the one. They look great, although like the cloth "Concealed Carry Clothier" vests I just purchased, with a heavy pistol you probably have to put something on the other side to balance things out. A couple of loaded spare magazines probably would do it. I like the "CCC" vests because they have more pockets and are washable. Coronado makes good stuff though. My wife's concealment purses are made by Coronado. Tough and good looking products. Worth the money.

I have one too. I like it alot for my smaller pistols. I was thinking that instead or a counter weight maybe a belt tie down with snaps. This way you can place the tie on either side depending if your a righty or lefty!!

I just ordered a concealment vest made by Roman Leathers that are about half the price of Coronado Leather. According to a dealer that handles both brands, he is dropping the Coronado line, except for special order, because side by side people choose the Roman Leather vest. I guess I will find out next week how it hangs and carries a Colt Defender in 45 acp.

Back on TFL

George Hill did a group buy for Coronado Leather Jackets.
He may still be able to get lowered prices.

In my opinion they are top of the line. Some of the best leather I have ever owned.

I would order from them again in a heartbeat

BTW the concealment pocket on my jacket will hold my 6in. 686

I believe I read that Roman Leather would discount also, but there was a few hundred dollar minimum order.

My vest should be here today and I will make judgement then. A few years ago I was checking out Coronado Leather at a gun show and decided not to buy, but I was very impressed with them. Roman Leather is about half the price, but you usually get what you pay for and I will most likely find out today if it is true in this case or not. I was checking out local leather stores a few weeks ago to try and determine my size, and for $70-$80 dollars I could get some pretty nice vests. So for about $20 more, I though Roman Leather concealment vest should be a good deal.

Coronado Leather CCW Concealment Vest

If you are still interested, I have one for sale. See attached picture.

Coronado Leather CCW Concealment Vest A great everyday vest that can be worn in almost any setting.

* Cut long enough for covering an inside-the-waistband holster
* Made with a longer 25” back
* Leather-trimmed inside waistband to avoid lining wear
* Dual inside concealed-carry pockets, will conceal full size autos
* Durable, protected pebbled cowhide
* Size 44

Just after buying this vest, I developed cancer and lost a tremendous amout of weight and now this doesn't fit me.

This is in "like new" condition. This is a comfortable way for you to carry your revolver or pistol, much better and more comfortable than an IWB holster.

$125
