My Ruger SP-101 has a blemish!
There is a lump of metal at the bottom; trigger end of the cylinder opening, at the rear; grip end, left side only. That is when hand held for shooting.
It projects perhaps 3/32 of an inch from the flat surface of the frame. It appears to have had some machining done on it, in that it may have been cut or ground away forming a "hemisphere."
That is one half of a circle; the diameter of which travels up and down -vertical when held in the hand. Approximately 3/16 in. in diameter.
Is this excess metal from the frame blank that Ruger does not want to have costly human labor remove, or does this "wart" have some purpose?
What is it?
Can I become a surgeon with my Dremmel and remove this eyesore?
