I have become smitten with bobtail 1911 commanders. They fit my hand just right, and now have regained some faith in the 1911 platform due to Dan Wesson.

Some of you may remember my 10mm Commander bobtail I had built. Which is now right as rain thanks to the group effort of THR, my smith, and myself. I didn't necessarily need a custom build, but finding a commander bobtail 10mm specifically a VBOB after a year of searching wasn't happening.

Fast forward several bobtails later, I discovered I was searching for another unicorn. I wanted a bobtail in 9mm, with a rail. I like having a light on carry/nightstand pistols.

I present to you the Dan Wesson TECP.

Fired 2 test mags of Underwood 124gr bonded jhp. Everything works as it should. Being 9mm, recoil is flat and minimal.

This started out as a blem 9mm Dan Wesson TCP. I had it bobtailed and magwell removed. I replaced brass bead front sight with tritium big dot from XS. Lok slim bobtail grips. Then had it Ceracoted battleship grey.

I have another TLR7 on order, as I don't like how far the switches stick into the trigger guard. This is one I pulled off my 229 just to see fitment. I want to use a different key to move the light forward some.

I have a light bearing holster from Southern Trapper on order to round out the CCW package.

New light, with different key, moved the switches out of the trigger guard. Now if my holster from Southern Trapper would get here, I'd be all set.
