I ran this thread on a hunting forum , where I'm a member also . With only 4 people with opinions there , one was a coyote hunter .
Combined results of the responses that I counted is , its a dog .
Dog - 10
Coy - dog - 5
Coyote - 2
Interesting the coyote hunter said , coyote , with the onset of mange .
I didn't add my vote , but after seeing it better than the picture I posted and how it moved , how it looked , the condition of its coat , how it carried its tail and how it reacted when it saw me . It just didn't put 50 yards between us , it loped for cover , 300 yards away and moved more like a coyote than a dog . It is strange that it returned to the area where it saw me a couple hours later and laid down . I know that spot if full of squirrels , there was even a hawk hunting there that morning . My first thoughts when I saw it , were coyote , but then its size and color had me guessing that . After my brother-in-law reminded me about that white wolf hybrid pet that was lost , I vote wolf hybrid offspring from a coyote . I am not a betting man , but I would bet $100 dollars that it is not a dog .
