Any ideas what is causing flames like this to shoot out of the chamber of this guy's Benelli M4? I pulled a few scenes from a Russian's Benelli shooting session and slowed down the video so you can see the places where his Benelli looks like it is catching on fire.

He usually explains what he is shooting if you watch the whole video. If he didn't say, with him who knows!

Wrong Russian, haven't a clue, what is the original video link?

As I posted in a Youtube comment (hoping the owner will see it): I suspect he has a weak recoil spring that's allowing the action to open too rapidly, venting gases and burning powder out with the shell. It's also possible the gun was firing slightly out of battery, as it appears the flameout occured on a doubled shot.

I am guessing it is the load. It happened with the bright green hulls. Not sure what they are, but it didn't appear to happen with the white or maroon ones that he was shooting.

Also, not the best muzzle discipline in the original video at 2:17. Not sure how many people were there off camera to his right, but he had a lapse of safety.

Right, I noticed that too, it only happened with the green shells. His muzzle discipline needs some work. Looks like a pretty nice range though, I noticed how people around him were grabbing to make their ear muffs tighter as he was blasting away. That's one reason I don't like shooting in a covered range. The noise is just brutal.

at the trap range i have noticed reo shells doing the same thing when shot in berettas, but never in rem 1100,s, it may have some thing to do with the recoil impaulse, allowing the gun to opening up alittle to soon. cases looked ok tho. eastbank.

The flame only happens on the last round when the chamber is held open. Something stuck on the chamber is burning. when it closes, no oxygen, no burny.

It says he shot many shells prior to this happening and the flame looks very sooty. I suspect it is melted plastic from the shells burning in the chamber.
