While I know that this rifle uses a lot of Zamac in the receiver, it is kind of appealing nonetheless with the classic styling, walnut stocks, octagon barrel, and Marbles sights.

Can any owners give me their impressions of this rifle?
For instance, I seem to recall reading somewhere that the action was a little stiff.
Is this true?
How well has yours held up to use?
Any undue parts wear or breakage?
Reliability issues?

I bought one for my wife a couple of years ago and we both enjoy shooting it. It's reliable and accurate but the action is a tad stiff and doesn't seem to be getting any smoother with use. The receiver is also liable to scratching.

Henry doesn't recommend disassembly for cleaning but I find it necessary. This video has very good instructions for field stripping:

The action is stiff.

I shoot a lot of sporting clays with a pump and you can get very enthusiastic with the pump stroke while cycling the action on a double.

That is the way I cycle the Henry pump all the time. Mine is in 22 Magnum. It is one of the few 22 Magnum pumps out there. There are only a handful of others 2 I can think of from Winchester and one from Browning.

If I was getting a pump 22 LR, I would choose many others before the Henry. Namely the Remington 572. There are many older offerings from Remington and Winchester as well.

I just bought one about a week ago. I love it. This will be my grouse hunting rifle this season. I've got the iron sights dialed in for 25 yards for head shots. Others have said that the pump action on the Henry was morphed from the lever action. I don't know. The action is stiff but not unbearably so. And when you get into a rhythm you don't really notice the stiffness. IMHO if you decide to get it you will not be disappointed.

Friend of mine has one in 22 WMR, and swears by it. I have shot it, and yes it is quite stiff. Its also very accurate with CCI and WW ammo, grouping about 1.5" at 40 yards. That's about as good as my Henry carbine in 22 WMR, honestly. Eventually I'll buy one for myself, especially if I can find one on the used market. The stiffness of the action doesn't concern me in the least. Buy one and don't look back.

Finally seen one while registering my new rifles the other week. Older gent whonhad it was tickled pink with it. He let me play with it while we were waiting for our paperwork, and I want one now. Tho it's a want I'll probably ignore, as I don't generally shoot .22mag for gun, and already have a few good .22s

As I said, if you want a pump in 22 mag, get the Henry. If you want a 22LR, you won’t go wrong with the Henry but there are other options out there that I think are a bit better.

I bought a Henry pump .22LR a few years ago because I liked the appearance of the rifle, and because it reminded me of the
historical importance of the old shooting galleries .22's. I also liked the fact that it shot the .22 short. ( I am a big fan of the .22 short.)
Since I bought it I have fired it approx. 700-800 times. I have noticed that it is getting smoother in the action, and it has also worked flawlessly
in every other way when I get to take it out shooting. I really like the sights because they are quite easy to see and line up.
The trigger pull is excellent (there is no slack or mush in the trigger pull.) The gun just feels good when I am pointing it.
I just have to mention the ejector is very good at throwing out the spent shell quite a distance. At the indoor gun range it was ejecting the
spent casing far enough that they were hitting the guy who was shooting beside me.
I still like the looks of the rifle and I have it right beside my bed so that I see it every day. (So far I have killed one feral cat with it and 3 rats.)

Their rimfire lever guns are frankly outstanding.

The company is 1st rate with a true patriot for a CEO with superb customer support as well.

Zamac is more than up to the task at hand and that rifle will last you your lifetime and more.

Check out the electronic program called you tube and you will find many
happy customers with the pump Henry.
