I’m curious!
Wasn’t there a Chicago politician whose FOID card expired and he had a bunch of guns, so he tried to pass a law making an exception for his situation? How egregious is that?
I wish I lived in Illinois.
I would organize a group of gun-friends 3 or 4 and target (I don’t mean that in the vernacular sense, i.e. to shoot, “select” would be a better word) an anti-gun political figure and just concentrate on his defeat in the next election. I would have some pamphlets to hand out and just spend time going door to door talking to people nicely, encourage them to get out and vote. Co-ordinate with his opponent, who maybe just as bad if not worse than the incumbent, and volunteer your time to getting this one particular person defeated. In the end you may not win, but I’m sure your efforts would put a discernible dent in the number of votes he receives on Election Day. He would see those numbers and other politicians would see those numbers, and other voters would see those numbers. Politicians aren’t dumb. They fear a large turn out of voters and single-issue voters. Other voters who are fed up would rally to your lead. These politicians would then have to ameliorate their positions on FOID and guns in general.
I think it’s worth the fight, (should I say “effort”). Good Luck.
