After 18 months of Sundays I am done with this one. 1903 Springfield with National Match barrel, rear sight is Lyman 48, front sight is Lyman 17 with post/dot reticle, checkered steel buttplate, modified Talley barrel band, deep engraved trigger guard, Timney trigger, all rust blued. Shoots excellent.

Just totally stunning! The perfect blending of blued steel and wood (along with some fine engraving and checkering), into one fantastic looking rifle!

That's an absolutely amazing rifle as well as a piece of art. If any of you have ever tried your hand at carving wood or polishing and bluing metal you can't help but be impressed with work like that.

Very nice! A traditional style rifle built on one of the most tradition-rich of all actions. Beautiful all the way around.

Gorgeous.

How does she shoot? Range report?

Love the Schnabel forend. Would love a shot of the rifle in it's entirety.

Did you start the stock from a blank or did you have a partially shaped pattern to work from.
Beautiful work by the way. To be honest some of your guns haven't been my style (all look wonderful), but this one resonates. Truly something to be proud of. That is heirloom quality.

That is a beautiful rifle! I would also like to see a few full length pictures; right/left/top/bottom.

I have a 1903 Sporter with open sights and an 03-A3 Sporter that is scoped. Mine are nice but not nearly as well done as yours.

Handsome. But why did you put a globe front sight on a hunting rifle?
Because it works remarkably well. I am using a Lee shaver insert that is a thin post with small dot on top of the post. Rear apeture has been drilled out to a slightly larger size , bigger than the micro insert I have yet smaller than the ghost ring sight if you just remove the insert altogether. Your eyes will automatically center the sight picture.

I haven't had much time to zero the rear sight in but I got a few minutes to get it on target. Shot it at 95 yards off my tailgate with corelockts.

I have a similar sight setup on a '94 Winchester -- best woods sight you can get.
