I would be afraid to lose that gun should I have to use it. That would be a shame..

About all I'd change is a tritium insert on the front sight. Otherwise, murdered out perfection! :)

That slide sculpt is really attractive.

I am not so sure about the dimple effect checkering.

But that slide 'geometry' is gorgeous.

I agree. Like the Walther P99 (that uses a similar cut), it serves the purpose of forward cocking serrations (by giving your fingers a point to grasp against) without the ugliness and holster-chewing attributes of forward cocking serrations. This bevel also aids re-holstering.

A very elegant solution.

That's not any Colt Lightweight Commander the way it left the factory!
VERY beautiful gun!

Absolutely stunning Mr. Rogers, as usual. Congratulations to the lucky owner!

Guys, you are not likely to see pricing info on a privately contracted custom (unless the owner is a member here and willing to share). Not likely to matter anyway as Rogers Precision has been overbooked and not accepting any new work since November of last year, probably even prior to that. (I'm not acquainted with them, I just checked their web site.)

Mr. Rogers;
If you would, I am just as interested in other details such as how long the build took, how long in advance it was booked and how the build sheet developed. Was all the work pre-determined by the owner or was there discussion and debate? Did the owner supply a Commander they already owned or was the cost of a new gun part of the total cost? I am definitely curious, if you know, whether the owner intends to carry this? Looks more suitable for a museum display case than a holster!

Absolutely gorgeous yet again!

This one's all the more sweeter than the last one as it's chambered for the .38 Super, one of my all-time favorites in a Colt Commander.

It's one of the nicest looking guns I have seen in recent years, but honestly I can buy 6 very nice guns for that price, or two beauty's, and although everything is relative, and I have spent huge amounts of money on things like Ferrari's when I was a young man, I still find it difficult to spend twice as much as my 1966 GTO , on a gun that I would not carry.
Now that's all relative again, to some money is no object, for them I guess it's a no brainer.

That is one beautiful gun. I am not up to date on custom work. Is "Golfballed" a technique or the name of a supplier? I have seen a bunch of 1911's and this is the nicest I have seen.

Waiting for it...

Price estimate?

:p

This I don't want to hear. I want to hold on to the illusion that someday without hitting the Powerball I can afford it. :D

Great work, Mr Roger !!
