I've been looking at getting some custom fitted in-ear protection. I would use it for both shooting and riding motorcycles as well as the occasional concert.

Some electronic ones from Earinc caught my eye. They are electronic, tuned to offset minor existing hearing damage and have a hi/lo feature that can shut out high ambient noise such as shooting and wind from motorcycles.

Does any one use these and have an opinion on them? Or good alternatives (have to be in ear, so I can get a helmet over)?

Here's a paste from their site:

E.A.R. Digital Multi-Memory (Programmable)

This is the ultimate in electronic hearing protection and is sometimes referred to as our INDOOR/OUTDOOR or HIGH/LOW unit. This design was initially introduced to our competitive shooting, hunting and motorcycling groups who wanted to reduce background sounds, commonly known as "acoustic confusion." This digital unit comes with two pre-set memories that can be quickly adjusted with a volume control and/or push button. One memory is designed to reproduce sounds with natural clarity while the second memory is designed to reduce background sounds such as wind, rain or other environmental conditions. (Please contact us for pricing information.)

Custom programming is available to clients who provide a current hearing test with their ear impressions. This will specifically tune the unit to the discrepancies of the clients audiogram and turn the unit in a truly "customized" electronic earplug.

Available with the following features:

Select-a-Vent (archery use)
Two-Way radio use
Audio/Music Upgrade
Lanyard ready
Full, Half and Completely-in-Canal models
