CZ 40B

Congratulations OP. I had one. It was uber reliable and accurate. My youngest talked me out of it. It's now his cold weather EDC. If I ever run across another one I would buy it without hesitation.

Wasn't this gun originally made by Colt but designed for them by CZ? I know it didn't have much sucess here in the U.S. but CZ continued to make it in both .40S&W and then later in 9mm.

Here is a link about the history. They were made solely by CZ and only in .40 S&W.

I just remembered that the name RAMI represented the first letters of the names of the two pistol designers. I did a quick search and found them: Radek Hauerland and Milan Trkulja. It therefore seems reasonable to me to think that they are the same designers of the previous CZ P40B.

The 40B became the RAMI after the Z 40 became the 40B.
We had six Colt Z40s in the gunshop I worked at, back in the day. The boss had no idea they were rare until I stupidly said something - they were all gone the next day. Gotta say, the Z40 had one of the nicest DAO triggers I have ever tried.

I owned a 2075 RAMI in .40 S&W. There was something wrong with the angle of the feed ramp on those guns and CZ knew it. Whatever the issue was it did not affect the 9 mm RAMIs.

I sent mine back to the factory at least three times and they could not get it to run well enough to get through an entire magazine without a jam. I ended up selling it to a pawn shop.

I've only ever seen one example of a CZ40B and it apparently had the same issue.

On GunBroker they go for 650-850 with the occasional really hi ($1000.00 plus) and really low (under $500).
