I will soon be ordering the CZ 452 Varmint in .17hmr. I want to put a high powered scope on the rifle. I am really looking at the Simmons Prairie Master 6-24X50 Black/Mil Dot Scope for $70 at http://www.natchezss.com/. Is anyone familiar with this scope? If so, is it reliable and will it keep its zero (I'd hope so since the rifle is only a .17hmr)? Thank you.

No info on the scope but a couple tidbits on the 452/.17HMR.

Working the bolt forward is easier when you push the back of the bolt forward with your thumb instead of using the handle. Also, pulling the bolt is also easier when doing it as the base of the bolt handle where it meet the bolt body with your trigger finger.

If you have problems feeding hollowpoints, to the simple mod to the mag follower as described on Rimfirecentral.com, it really works. I had problems myself with CCI TNT, did the mod, it worked great, proceded to shoot the smallest .17 HMR group I've ever shot.

My gun is totally stock. Slightly creepy trigger, barrel is not freefloating.

(Currently have a Leu 8.5-25X50 LR M1 MD on it.)

Good luck with your CZ.
