Fired my CZ-75D PCR Compact for the first time today. Love the gun! I'm sure it is more accurate than I am but I'm pleased with it. I shot some PPU, American Eagle, and Federal. No hiccups whatsoever. When cleaning it, I noticed the end of the breech end of the barrel had some markings. I'm not sure if the barrel was machined this way or if it somehow got damaged while shooting? The pic is a bit fuzzy, but does this look normal?

I think I see what your talking about if you look at the barrel the silver spots are what need fitted when installing a new one so me guess is the barrel was fit really tight, maybe just take some 1200 or higher grit sand paper and smooth it out and see if it continues to wear, no real down side as long as its working.

You can also take a black permanent marker to the area and if it rubs off under say 25 rds it's still fitted pretty tight.

Try to take a little better picture and I'll see if I can see what you are talking about.

Yeah, I know. It looks clearer on the phone, but not so hot when I posted it. I did see some other barrels since I posted this and I'm sure there really isn't any issue. Thanks for the replies though.

Those shiny spots on the breech end of the barrel happen when the gun goes into battery and are normal.

About 3/16" before the gun locks up in full battery, the breech end of the slide touches the slide, whereupon the barrel starts tilting up to engage the slide locking serrations. This upward movement drags the barrel breech against the slide face = the wear you see in the pic.

A bit of lube in that area is good practice.

edit: I would not remove any of that material as it probably is tied to the timing of the lockup sequence. If material is removed, the barrel lockup into full battery will be delayed. This could lead to wear on the lockup serrations or possibly the gun firing out of battery.

If you want to keep your warranty, just in case something happens, I wouldn't even polish the feed ramp. After 500-1000 rds the action will be much better seated in, and then you could polsh the feed ramp and breach face 'without' removing metal, to make it feed smoother.
Shoot the snot out of it.:)

It's Normal. I've owned three CZ75s. All had very close barrel to slide fit. It is intentional, it is a good thing. I wish all my guns had barrels so well fit. Do not sand, file, stone, grind, saw, or hammer that area unless you just have to have a barrel that fits worse. This is the kind of fit we pay gunsmiths to achieve with guns that do not have closely fitted barrels....ymmv
