Is there really any prevailing reason why one would want to spend the extra 70some bucks on the SP-01 when there's the 75B is available (other than the SP-01 maybe looking a little cooler)?

No. The differences are mostly cosmetic. The SP01 has heavier stock springs than the 75.

I love my SP01. I like nice looking guns and I think the SP01 is better looking than the 75.

They're heavier and shoot a little softer than the 75B's. Higher capacity, too. If that appeals to you, cough up the dough; it's an awesome gun.

Mmm, I think the SP-01 is going to have a better trigger reach than the 75B.

The SP-01 also has a deeper trigger curve, which results in better ergonomics.

The SP01 has night sites ($75) and rubber grips ($40) plus the better trigger. I have a 75BD and my buddy just bought a SP01 that I have shot. Once his trigger smoothes up, I will probably like it better than mine.

Both CZ models are underpriced compared to the other offerings on the market (IMO). The SP-01 is easily worth the regular asking price - especially if you want the trigger and rail and night sights. But the 75B is a particularly excellent deal in my part of the world $435 OTD at Academy Sports and a fine gun in its own right.

SP01 also offers full beavertail..allowing a slightly deeper grip. beveled magwell, extended and reversible mag release.

does come with trijicon night sights and two 19round mags..

it does shoot slightly softer than the 75b but that is a function of the weight..

is it worth the extra $$$. up to you..

I really like mine..

I went back and forth between the SP-01 and a stainless 75B.
It came down to feel for me.
Longer beavertail, deeper grip, softer rubber grips, shorter trigger reach, softer shooting.

Most importantly the cool accessories you can get for it!:p
