Has anyone here ever handled or fired a CZ-75 Tactical Sport?

Is it...
Reliable?
Durable?
Accurate?

What about the...
Trigger pull?
Sights?
Ammo it likes?

I've been shopping around for a good target pistol, and I like the aesthetics of this gun.

That is one I was looking at (pictures anyway) I did not know anyone who had one and heard so much good stuff about the Witness Elite Match,( which I also could only look at through pictures ) and the Witness was so much cheaper, I bought a Witness in .40 and it is great. Very accurate and reliable. I would still love to see and shoot a Tactical Sport as I still lust over at least trying one. Too bad there are none and will be none around here. :)

I posted the same question some time back. I will be interested in the responses here again. I would be very interested in how it compares to the S&W 952 as well.

Well

The're about 900ish around me. I'd like to have one, but the Witness is a better deal for the money.

The TS does come with pretty nice case, and a bunch of extra goodies.

I've been shopping around for either the CZ75TS or the Witness Elite Limited and have found that the CZ tends to hover around $100-150 more than the Witness. Now I really love my CZ SP01 that I shoot in Production division, but I like that the Witness Limited is available in a wider variety of calibers, comes with adjustable sights, an aluminum magwell (the CZ is a small plastic one, but Angus can get you a good aluminum one for it), and is pretty much ready to run for what I want for Limited division. The downside to the Witness Elites is that they only come with one magazine, so you'll have a greater investment post purchase to get ready for any kind of serious shooting. I'm not sure how many magazines come with the CZ75TS, but I'm sure you get more than one. Also, I've heard that the TS has a better "out of the box" trigger.

I compared the Witness Limited rather than the Witness Match, because the Limited variant is much closer to the CZ75TS than the Match is. I own a Witness Elite Match in .38super and it's a wonderful pistol, but even with a .40smith or 10mm top end, it's not what I'd want in a pistol for Limited division. It does have adjustable sights, comes in a wide variety of calibers, and has a very nice SA trigger, but it doesn't have the full length dust cover or the magwell. The upside to the Match is that you can find them for around $500, which is around $300 less than the Limited (and $400-450 less than the CZ75TS).

All 3 pistols are very nice, high quality, competition type pistols...and all 3 might take a little fine tuning to run at 99.9% reliability for competition type uses. Any of the 3 would serve you well. What I will end up doing, more than likely is replacing the firing pin on my Elite Match (with an EGW one) and then selling it to purchase an Elite Limited in 10mm.

Funny thing is

I have the steel one. It's nice. From what I can gather is that in the past if the plastic triggers have broken they'll send you a steel one.

The Tac Sport is a neat gun. I think they give you extra slide stops, and I want to say three magazines, but I might not be remembering correctly. Asides from getting a nicer gun, you do also got some other extra goodies.

A 9x19 is on my wish list. I shot my first action pistol shoot the other day. I am hooked. Unfortunately a TS doesn't fit in the budget (damn Jeep!). I'll have to make due with my SP01.

"Make do" with a SP01? "MAKE DO" WITH A SP01?!?!?!

The SP01 (which I shoot in production division btw) is a more than capable platform. I currently know if it being used in Production, Limited minor, and Open minor AND major. With a little fine tuning, it's a VERY sweet pistol. Only thing to do to mine on my list of goodies is switch out to the CZ Competition sights with FO front and the CZ thin aluminum grips (which because they're a CZ factory available option, they are legal for USPSA/IPSC!).

I have a CZ75 TS in 9mm that I really like. I've only shot S&B 115 gr. in it and its shoots great - accurate and reliable. The more I shoot it, the more I like it. The sights are totally black target sights and its weight greatly softens recoil. As much as I like my other CZs (75, Kadet, P-01), this one is becoming my favorite. I've never noticed the plastic trigger. A great pistol. :)

On the TS's trigger, depending on who you talk to...

it comes with a polymer (aka plastic) trigger, but as stated before CZ has supplied some metal ones (not sure if they were steel though). Angus Hobdell (Capt Team CZ-USA) offers an aluminum trigger for the TS...as well as many toys for CZ shooters. www.ghostholster.com
