I was wondering if the CZ 75 has a double action only variant? I'm familiar with the B and BD. Thanks.

yes..but hard to find..don't think its catalogued anymore.

They do seem hard to come buy so when I found one that was like new in box and $289 out the door....I jumped on it. It is a .40 and is fun to shoot but does have a long trigger pull. Overall a very nice gun.

I'd definitely buy one in 9mm if I could find one, especially at a price like that.

Thought I'd post a couple of pics for those interested since this particular CZ isn't discussed much.

Cheers!

anychance you could shoot a photo of the internals with the slide off..
very curious about this gun..thanks

I second eerw's request for photos.
I have been looking DAO in 9mm as well.

A few more internals shots.

I think its time for a cleaning!

thanks for doing that..

its got me really curious now..what the heck does the sear do in DAO gun??
what allows the hammer to come back to the down position after firing??

eerw re: what allows the hammer to come back down after each DAO shot?

Look closely at the third .jpg

I think it's the metal horn -showing light wear from slide travel- that extends to the rear of the sear block, on the right hand side of this block. This horn acts like a fulcrum that when pressed by the slide, lifts the sear away from the returning hammer hook. When the slide is closed, the fulcrum is released upward to permit sear function during trigger pull.

that part is the firing pin block lever..the trigger bar raises it and it raises the block in the slide that allows the firing pin to move.

when a 75B is fired in DA..there is an L-shaped part that connects the hammer to the trigger bar. when the trigger is pulled it pushes the L-shaped part and the hammer back. it releases at a point sooner than the release point when the hammer is on the sear. the hammer comes forward, gun fires, slide goes back and pushes the hammer back to be caught by the sear. at that point the trigger bar pushes on the sear to release the hammer.

so what confuses me. is what does the sear do in a DAO gun and does anything brake the hammer when it follows the slide forward. or does it just follow the slide down and the firing pin block just block the hammer strike on the pin.

Exactly. The hammer follows the slide down.

thanks..

does it go all the way down..or onto the halfcock notch of the hammer

It remains an interesting question. I hope we can figure it out.

I am new to handguns and still marvel at how much goes on in such a compact package. My own SP-01 has a manual safety and no FPB.

Hey guys,
The hammer goes all the way down and does rest on the firing pin.
