I have a CZ-83 in 9mm Mak that is suppose to hold 10 rounds in the magazine. However, just getting 8 rounds in is a real bear. After about 6 rounds it gets real tight ,and I'm not a happy shooter. Should I try to cut back the magazine spring. How have you handled this problem in your pistols magazine.

Try over here...

Stoney,

Sorry that I can't help you directly with the problem you're experiencing with your CZ83, as I do not personally own one. However, you might want to pop on over to this address:

http://pub105.ezboard.com/fczechpistols82792frm68

That is the CZ Forum's "CZ83 Club" page. With the amount of CZ83 owners that habit that place, I'm sure that someone will be able to help you out.

Good luck!

Thanks nvrquit
Post's on the CZ form suggests that the size difference between the 9mm mak and the .380 is the problem. Which is to say, the magazine was designed for the .380,and the mak 9mm being larger is why I can't get the magazine full with 10 rounds.

I'm not sure if that's true or not, does anyone know any different. I'm not convinced.

Yep.......its true. There is just enough difference in them that the 10 rnd mags are 9 rnd mags and the 13's are 12's.

Heres what to do to get 9 in it. Leave 8 in it for a couple of days, then take the rounds out, stuff 8 back in it for a couple more days and then it will relax the spring....slightly, anyway. Youll get them in sometime if you keep doing this.

Twust me....Ive had 3 83's including a Mak chambered one. Nice gun.

Shoot well.
