Acurracy 9mm Mak versus .380 ACP

Does anybody have any experience with shooting both the CZ82/82 in 9mm Mak and .380ACP? Since the Mak has a polygonal barrel and the .380 doesn't - is there a noticeable difference in accuracy?
Is there any good defense ammo in 9mm Mak?

Are the .32 ACPs available new with 15-rd mags?
How is recoil/accuracy?

Last, it seems to have a rather fat grip - is this still a pocket pistol or something looking for its own holster?

Recoil and accuracy of the 32acp is light and very good. The only 32acp models I've seem to see for sale are Ban era pistols, but you can get 15rd mags from CZ-USA. It needs a holster. I got a nifty nylon holster, with an adjustable retention strap and spare magazine pouch.

CZ-83s in .32 ACP

Although they are no longer importing the .32 ACP CZ-83 (I'm told), there are at least 100 of them for sale new in box (NIB) around the USA right now (blue finish only).

Some have the 10 round mags, some have the 15 round mags. I just bought two CZ-83s in .32 ACP. Each gun came with two 15 round mags.

There are also at least a couple dozen of the 9x18s blue NIB floating around at different online places.

Both of the above calibers are impossible to find in nickel finish right now. However, I have it on good authority that a few dozen 9x18 nickels will be coming into the USA in Feb or March. Makarov.com will be getting 24. Other wholesalers-retailers will be getting some too.

.380 CZ-83s are always abundant in both blue and nickel finishes NIB at any gun store in the USA. Best prices online though.

My question is this: Has anyone ever seen a .32 ACP nickel CZ-83? Do they even exist? Were they ever imported?

There you go, assuming.:D

A fair amount of California gets quite cold. Trains get snowed in, as do pioneer wagon trains. Caltrans has a huge budget for snow removal. I've seen snow in Los Angeles and freeze-broken water pipes in Sacramento. Woke up one morning to 30" of wet snow when I was living east of Auburn. Power was out for several days. There's more to CA than beaches and Disneyland.

My .32 ACP CZ-83 and Firestorm .32 ACP

The guy at the gun store said he personally guaranteed my .32 ACPs would knock over a bull gerbal-hampster from 15 yards with one shot. He found that quite amusing. He said that's one shot hamster stopping power. I grudgingly had to laugh too. It's funny, but I hope they'll handle more than that.

Has anyone ever seen a CZ-83 in .32 ACP nickel?

WANTED: CZ-83 in .32 ACP Nickel NIB

I've seen plenty in blue, but never nickel.

Do they exist in nickel?

If so, please send me a private message. Post it too, if you like.

CZ-83 in 9x18 blue NIB

Hi. I noticed at least one of you wants a new in box 9x18 CZ-83 blue with two 12 round magazines.

I just ordered 3 of these NIB by accident. I really only wanted 2. I'd like to unload one.

I paid $380 plus shipping and insurance. I'd be interested in selling it for $380, but I'll cover shipping and insurance. With me covering shipping and insurance, that's like getting it for about $350 or less.

This is NIB with two 12 round mags.

I'm normally a buyer, not a seller, so I'm not very familiar with the procedure, but I think I have my FFL dealer ship it to your FFL dealer. Does that sound right?

Any takers?

If so, please send me a private message. Post it too, if you like.

Latest info I have as of 1-25-06

Here's the best info I've got to date.

CZ-83 NIB are as common as dirt in .380 nickel or gloss blue, but not in the matte black aka black polycoat. If looking for one in blue or nickel, any gun store can order one, or may even have one in stock.

However, if you want a NIB .380 in matte black, Makarov.com is the only place I know of. They don't have any yet, but they'll be here by March 2006 or April, I've heard.

CZ-83s NIB in .32 ACP are still fairly common on GunsAmerica.com and GunBroker.com, even though they're not imported anymore. The blues are common, sometimes blacks, I've never seen a nickel.

The tougher ones are the NIB 9x18s. They're still available in glossy blue at GunsAmerica.com and GunBroker.com, but aren't common. However, in nickel and matte black they are very rare, in my experience.

However, Makarov.com is going to be getting 9x18s in all 3 finishes sometime in March or April 2006. So I've heard.

Makarov.com will also be selling conversion barrels and springs to convert CZ-83 .380s and 9x18s to .32 NAA.

For more info from Makarov.com or to preorder see the following post from Makarov.com: http://www.gunboards.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=144719

Definitely! Keep me in the loop.

Incidentally, this guy seems to have plenty of the blued models, but I'd hold out for the nickel.

FWIW, I've been to this guy's shop, and I doubt he has more than 1 or 2 in stock at any given time. The place is a dumpy little hole-in-the-wall, located in a strip mall in a pretty crappy area. You have to knock on the door and wait for them to buzz you in.

I'd be willing to bet he's pre-selling and only ordering when/if he actually sells one.

If you're in the Atlanta area, Tucker Gun has about a dozen CZ-83s in stock right now.

Yow! Thanks for saving me the drive

It's my understanding that an individual may ship a handgun directly to a licensed dealer, gunsmith or factory by overnight delivery (UPS or FedEx), but a dealer may use the US Mails. Overnight is more expensive, but a dealer may charge you to do the paperwork - he has to log the gun into his book and then log it out to the destination dealer. Either you or your dealer must have a copy of the destination dealer's FFL before sending the gun.

I had to send a gun back to the factory recently, and the FedEx counter was perfectly cool with it - just an ordinary transaction as far as they were concerned. I think you have to go to a company counter, though, not a Mailboxes or Kinkos agent.

Yes I bought two of them in blue from Buds Gun Shop

However, they are not available in .32 ACP Nickel. It's the nickel I'm after now.

I've never done business with them before, but Bud's Gun Shop is selling them for less than $317: link.
