After 3000 rounds with no issues, I had 2 misfeeds in one day. The slide jammed back with a bullet laying loose on top of the magazine, chamber empty. I had to shake the gun around to get that loose bullet out, but then re-chambered and went on. Same ammo, clean gun, etc. Looks like a magazine problem. The only difference I can think of is that I mixed in some Speer bullets in with my normal handloads. These Speer bullets were 1.155, and my normal handloads are 1.140". The bullets fit in the magazine OK and I assumed they would be OK. I have used bullets as long as 1.165" with no problem. Could it be that a single longer bullet in a magazine make it jam up or feed slow and all the bullets in the magazine need to be the same length? I'm thinking this has to be it.

Did the new bullet feed and fire or was it the one that didn't feed?

1. You didn't mention WHICH SPEER Bullets and nose-shape---RN?, HP?, FP?, conical nose?.
The CZ chamber is "short". Many Hollowpoint & flatpoint bullets need to be chamber checked before use. Most require OALs from 1.08" to 1.11" to be able to seat on the casemouth.
What the Mag will hold is NOT NECESSARILY what the chamber will ACCEPT. Conical nose bullets also sometimes cause problems in a short chamber.

Remove the bbl. "DROP" one of the cartridges into the chamber. It should "fall" in and seat on the casemouth. Push lightly on the base of the Cartridge to make sure it's seated. Turn the bbll over and the cartridge should "fall out". If it doesn't, its likely making contact with the side of the chamber wall or rifling. BAD.
If it falls in and seats, you should be able to rotate the cartridge a little by hand.

2. Was it the same mag that caused the jams? If the same mag was the culprit, make sure all are 'clean' inside and out. With only 3K through the pistol, the springs should be good.

Hope this makes sense.

Clarification - was the cartridge jammed in at an angle, holding the slide back, or did the slide lock back on an empty magazine because the last round was simply laying on top of it?
If it was too long, it would likely have jammed on the way in, not at full recoil.
1.155 is the length I load the Berry's 115gr HBRN-TP bullets, and they work fine in my CZ SP-01 Phantom, but that's a long narrow ogive.
