Does anybody know if you can mount a red dot sight on a cz carbine? As if you could that could make one of the quickest handling rifles out there.

You mean the 527 Carbine? Yeah, you can. Millet makes a 1 inch tube red dot that would work straight up with the standard 527 rings.... but you will need a 1 piece base for most options to work well.

I had a Millett on my carbine for...a little while. Expensive CZ 'high' rings to clear the bolt.

It was alright I guess. As I remember, it brought my cheek weld too high off the stock for my liking. Went back to the irons which work fine. The Millett now resides on my CZ Kadet, a much happier home.

Wish they made a fiber optic front sight for the carbine, that would be very nice!

It's pretty easy to mod the bolt handle on a 527 to allow the use of low rings. The just use any 16mm dovetail rings.

+1 Guntech. The high rings suck, but one can grind away much of the meat on the bolt handle to clear the ocular lense using medium rings, reblue it, and it will work just fine.

I meant the 527 carbine sorry. I live in canada where such semi automatic rifles are illegal. I am just trying to find a real quick rifle for a close cover coyote rifle.

I went to a carbine class in california. one guy brought a cz 527 w/ a red dot. from low ready, he was always one of the first to take the shot. His follow-up's were slightly slower.

Here's a before and after CZ-527 bolt knob mod. If you don't feel comfortable, James Calhoon will ship you a modded knob for $40 plus your old knob
