CZ P10 - what’s the benefit?

"I have a bunch of different service-type guns as well, SIG's, Berettas, 1911's, Glocks, etc, and shoot them all the time as well. They all shoot pretty much the same for me, and I keep and regularly practice with guns with different trigger/action types, so I can pick up anything and still shoot it reasonably well without having to think about it."

We have some interesting similarities. Most of my semiautos are service pistols. I prefer to practice with a variety of them. We have similar goals about being able to "pick up anything and still shoot it reasonably well". Like you, I shoot most service pistols with similar accuracy.

My Sigs and 1911's and CZ's fit my hands best and I like shooting them the most. The Glocks and Berettas and Hi-Power (blasphemy) are okay. I shoot them about as well, but they don't fit my hands as well or make me smile. That's why they're kinda "meh" to me. There's nothing wrong with them. They shoot just fine.

Sorry for the thread drift. If I have a point, it's probably that everyone should find the pistols that suit them best, whether it's a CZ or a Glock or whatever. :)

Anecdote: My friend has a beautiful 4" S&W Model 66 that he got from his dad. I have a 4" Taurus Model 66 variant that I picked up used for $199 a long time ago. His revolver is way nicer, and the trigger is smoother. When we shoot them both, their accuracy is the same. Either one of us would very much prefer to own the Smith. It's a much nicer handgun. But the Taurus is just as functional.

When it comes to striker fired plastic handguns I will just quote armoredman, "Ho-hum, whoopee". I have owned a few but never managed to fall in love with any of them and am currently striker fired pistol-less. I owned a full sized Smith M&P that I kind of liked but it was in 40 cal. and when it got to making my wrist hurt to where it was unpleasant to shoot I handed it off to a grandson. I could have turned it in to a 9mm but there was that striker thing so I didn't.

Yeah, it's just another polymer striker-fired pistol.
That said, I've got both the C and S. Wanted something like my Ruger SR9C that's still in production, and however much I hammers and alloy frames, I'm getting older and weight and parts to catch are more important for carry. The only reason I don't have an F is because the C fits me perfectly. My full-sized needs are covered by a 75B, and if something's going to be too big for me to conceal anyway, there's no point in staying with polymer and strikers.

So far, CZ just decided "Let's make a Glock, but not hate it." CZ fixed my complaints about Glock (even the trigger, mostly) and everything Glock does right already, CZ does better. Some people complain about it, but I like the grip texture. I want it to dig into my hand, as long as it's short of discomfort. The P-10 doesn't scrape me up and just glues itself in place.

Currently waiting on an NDZ floorplate. Hoping that will solve my one complaint about the feel--my pinky barely sitting on the grip of my P10S. My only other complaint is that it locks up one some longer JHP, and I'm a fan of 147gr Federal HST. I'll just have to check again at 500 rounds.

Thanks for the input everyone. I passed on the P10 after handling one when I visited PSA in Myrtle Beach. Just didn’t feel good enough to have further interest.

Another fan here. When we go out desert shooting, others try it and like it.

The Glock for grownups, IOW.

Conelrad

Nah. I’ll keep my 2011s over both. I do have a recent acquisition p10 F I got dirt cheap, good beater budget gun.
