CZ Rifles....

Heres a thread all the "any foreign made gun is crap" folks are sure to love.

I had an older BRNO 602 in 458 Lott for awhile. It was THE most rugged and reliable rifle I have ever handled and that includes the rifles I handled while in Afghanistan. It wasnt much for accuracy but who really cares.

It wasnt the perfect rifle though. What is the deal with CZs bass ackwards safties anyway?

Pat4x4

Rangerruck is correct. I have CZ mounts on both my 22-250 and my 6.5x55 Swede. I used millets initially on the 22-250 but when I changed scopes it the millets simply were not stable enough for it.

So what I have learned is that you really need to use the CZ mounts with these rifles.

armoredman, thanks. the folding stock is very much sturdy as it is the original sidefolder for the vz58, just wrapped it w/nylon rope. my handguard set is from fabdefense/mako group, it has top rail mounts and very solid to add a red dot.

deer hunter, czechpoint usa i beleive has a special on them $820 or 890 not bad considering some on gunbroker fetches up in the 1k range already:eek: the way the prices of aks are goin i would rather get another vz58, awesome rifles and a plus on their milled receiver.

Do I like CZ rifles?

Hee hee, lemme think about that one.

Yes. Yes, definitely. 452/453/513 is outstanding. 550 is outstanding. Never had a 527 yet, but want one.

I have a CZ550 Amercian in 30-06 I've had since about 1998. It is a fantastic hunting rifle.

The fit and finish is very good. Better than the Winchester Mod 70 Classic F/W it replaced back then.

I really like the single set trigger. Very easy to adjust.

True CRF Mauser action. I likey!!!

I don't like the CZ specific scope rings. My rifle did not come with rings back when I bought it (unscroupolus dealer took them out the box and tried to sell them for extra $$$). I didn't know they were CZ specific and a little strapped for $$$ that day on a new rifle I didn't really need at the time... Later the only thing I could get for it were some Warne quick detach rings for like $165.00....

It only shoots my favorite 30-06 load (Federal Premium 180gr Nosler Partitioned) into about 1.2 MOA. I just haven't had time to do any load development with the rifle it may like 150 or 165gr bullets better, but I needed to use it for a hunt and sighted it in with my favorite Federals and said 1.2 will have to be good enough... that was 9yrs ago.

I took my CZ 22-250 to the range today. Not sure what happened but I did not shoot it near as well as I usually do...this is a shooter issue and not a rifle issue. The range was real crowded...not sure why but I just do not seem to shoot as well when there are that many people hovering and moving around. Just too distracting.

it is quite possible, that a 527, in 22 hornet, or if made , a 17 fireball, may be just the most perfect varmint / walk about rifle ever made...

The only thing more perfect Rangerruck, is a CZ 527 .221 action that is turned into a tack driving 19 badger with a light contour stock and FX6 scope. It is my favorite "go-to" rifle and has accounted for hundreds of chucks, SERTs and numerous yotes.

I wish I still had my first CZ rifle, a 452, 17 hmr American. After watching the price of hmr ammo go through the moon, (I can reload three boxes of 19 badger ammo for the price of one box of HMR ammo), I sold the rifle. That thing was a laser cannon with 17 grain CCI loads;took out lots of SERTs in the five years I had it.

I have a CZ 452 trainer with a trigger job and a vintage Lyman 4x All-American mounted with burris Z-rings that will be passed on after I die. I have owned more than 15 rimfire rifles. My list currently is a 1969-Marlin 39a, 1981-Marlin 39a, 2004-CZ452 trainer. I will give the levers to my kids, the CZ is mine. Enough said?
I have been on a quest for the perfect 30-06 since I was 14. After owning four previous rifles, Savage 110, Browning 1895, Winchester 70, Garand, I have finally found the 30-06 I'll use the rest of my life. CZ 550 FS. My 168 gn Sierrs handloads with IMR 4895 and CCI primers shoots 1/2 inch at 100 yards using a telscopic sight. I intend to purchase a peep sight someday as the rifle doesn't carry well with a scope.
I also purchased a Dan Wesson PM7 that I am having some issues with but I am confident that these will be taken care of by any subsidiary of CZ.
I would like to sell off my Kimber Longmaster Classic .223 and a Belgium hi-power to finance the purchase of a CZ 527 Carbine, CZ453 american and a CZp01.
I am very fond of CZ products.........Only divorce keeps me from the purchase of more of these fine firearms. :D

I have 5 CZ pistols and 2 rifles. You can't go wrong with a CZ.:)

My 452FS in .22 LR is awesome. The picture doesn't do justice to the wood on this thing. I paid less than $500 out the door in August. I could not be happier with it.

I have a 527 in 22 Hornet great shooter and a lot of fun. Did have to send it back to the factory. The magazine wasn't working right and it wouldn't feed from the magazine. Once returned it has worked great.

I can vouch for my 550 in 243 cal. It is the most reliable rifle I own. I only wish CZ would make Picatinny rails an option.

The European, down sloping stock looks like it would smack you in the cheek with a hard recoiling rifle. Do any of you have one and can answer that issue?

I have had 3 CZs: a .375 H&H Mag Safari, a .300 Win Mag Safari and a .22LR. I sold all 3 some years back when I had my neck fused. Didn't think I would ever be able to hunt again. I kick myself weekly for selling them...now that I can hunt and target shoot again.

527 x39 carbine. I fell in love with it at a gun show, bought it a few months later. Perfect caliber (for me), perfect rifle. Once I worked the bugs out...
