It looks like they're just directly ripping off the newest thing in town.

I wonder if it can switch calibres and barrels and such?

Lead, Follow or get out of the way. If you cannot innovate COPY! Every market does this why wouldn't you expect the firearms industry to do so?

Why didn't they just use STANAG mags instead of G36 mags since it IS a copy of the SCAR? Is it patent issues?

Take off some of the crap and put it in the hands of someone that doesn't look like they're set up to go play airsoft and it might look nice.

Yet another high speed, low drag black rifle chambered in 5.56mm NATO.

I've got to where I can't tell the difference between a Sig 556, H&K 416, Masada, SCAR, etc. etc. etc.

Same ballistics. Same location of selector switch, magazine release, etc. Same barrel. Often the same magazines.

Looks like old Stoner got it right the first time.

If the military adopted one of these new high speed black rifles, they ought to just call it an M16A5.

That looks more like the SCAR 2004 prototype than the present production SCAR.

Vaarok, did you mean 7.62x51mm NATO?

If so, we're still using it in the form of the M14 semiauto designated marksman rifle and bolt action sniper rifles as well as machine guns.

hey, Famaldehide Face, you looks like "real expert": The new 5.56mm Czech assault rifle, heavily based on the G36 and FN SCAR. - is´s same bull**** as ČZ vz.58 is copy of a Kalashnikov. There still aren´t oficial info about new ČZ S805A, just only several unpublic presentations for army chiefs, so where you have got info about "heavily based on the G36 and FN SCAR"? as I have said - just bull****, the fact is, that officials of Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod have said about "new original system different from ČZ vz.58". ČZ vz.58 has nothing to do with any AK, ČZ S805 is in development since 2003/4 year and has nothing to do with SCAR or a HK.

hey, Famaldehide Face

Points for most original put down! :neener:

sorry, but thats a new one on me, and just thought it funny. wonder if its just an odd czech to english translation from an online translator?

OK, back to the real discussiion, sorry.

:eek::eek: yeah, I'm stupid, I just saw his screen name in another post, and put 2 and 2 together. Oops. Didnt even catch it here, as the large pic drew my eyes, and I just didnt notice. That kinda makes it even funnier, as I just thought it was some new, eastern european cut-down I had never heard. :D

Carry on, nothing to see here but my red face.......

Yeah you just lost all credibility, because you too tried to act like a "real expert".

The vz58 is NOT a kalashnikov copy. They are as different as the earth and the sun.

ČZ S805 will has four versions - standart assault rifle, short carbine, light machine gun and sniper rifle. Yes, it can switch barrels and calibres easily - 5,56mm and 7,62mm NATO.

well, my English is very bad, so I guess that you didn´t understand, "it´s bull**** as ČZ vz.58 is copy of Kalashnikov" means vz.58 is completely original rifle NOT any AK copy, be sure that I know it. There is reason for my sign here and my reply - stupid considering further Czech rifle to be just like another copy of something, just like in case of Vz.58. So what are talking about?

Haha that's exactly what I thought too, I was cracking up but I went back and checked to find out who he was talking to.

whoooo, GOOD MORNING THR!!!!!

I know nothing about the internals of the S805, but you have to admit that the upper looks like a direct ripoff of the SCAR. The side folder looks pretty familiar as well.

What type of optic is that?

ok, I can admit that Vz.58´s upper looks loke an AK, jesus christ, what do you want at last? Again, no official info about CZ S805 yet, the rifle is tested by Czech Army right now, and will be announced and shown on public during Czech Army the 21 century soldier project presentation in September 2008. Optics looks like new items by Meopta Přerov, main optics producer for Czech Army.
The photo above was taken from a poster at recent IDEB 2008 military show in Slovakia (just copy from a poster with a camera)

here is the third prototype, 2006 year, former army´s chief gen. Štefka

BTW, ČZUB is working on add grenade launcher for ČZ S805, on new submachine gun as replacement for Vz.61 as well, it´s almost done too, on new 30mm grenade launcher and replacement for Uk vz.59.

Nope, the CZ S805 system is designed only to intermediate rounds A version - 5,56 mm x 45 NATO, B version - 7,62 mm x 39 M43 and planned C version - 6,8 mm x 43 SPC. The CZ S805A will have only three versions - Carbine, Standard, LMG/Sniper. The CZ S805B I've seen only in Standard configuration. Several protype rifles are just being tested by Czech Army.

Yeah, it will be short 5,56-mm carbine called Scorpion EVO, developed by the MOR base.
