Im looking for a new shotgun just to have fun with but i dont want to break the bank. Ive been considering an o/u but heard that you dont get much unless you spend a lot. I saw the CZ online and thought it looked nice. What do you think of the fit, finish, and reliability of the mallard.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the on-going debate over the cheaper Turkish shotguns. My experience is with the Huglu (CZ) SXS's. If your not going to shoot clays hard. I say go for it. You can shop hard and maybe eventually find a field worn Citori for similar money.

I'm probably a 500 shot-a-year guy on several guns. The multi-thousand round guys have different and valid opinions.

I would probably be around the 500 rounds a year too. Like many of us i dont get to shoot as much as I want to and i like to shoot all types of guns so none get too many rounds a year. What do you think of the reliability of the turkish guns in general? Ive heard pre 2007 guns had terrible quality control but they got better. Some say they wouldnt trust a turkish gun again.
Also if there are any recommendations for a sxs or o/u for about 500 dollars or less let me know.
Thanks
