I got the chance to handle a OOW's VZ 2000 rifle yesterday at a local gunshop and I was very impressed with it! It looked to be very well made/finished and felt great holding it. It's noticeably lighter and better balanced than an AK-47. Also, I loved the look of the wood-impregnated bakelite stock. I decided then and there I will buy one of these before this year is up...
Now however, I'm wondering how CZ's now discontinued VZ 58 Military Sporter compares with the OOW VZ 2000. Any quality or functional difference between these two rifles? I know that the VZ 2000 doesn't have a chrome-lined barrel, does the VZ 58 have a chrome-lined barrel? Are the mags between the two interchangeable?
If anyone has any info/experience with either of these two rifles I'd really appreciate your input. Thanks.
