To clarify, I'm talking about the Hybrid that CZ made that has a grip like a 1911. I was in a gun shop the other day that had one so I asked to see it. I had heard a lot of praise over this gun and after picking it up I could see why. It felt very good in my hand and the trigger was veeeerrrrry nice. Anyway, to my question. Will any 1911 grip fit on the CZ40, in particular crimson trace. Also who CCWs the CZ? I was entertaining the idea of getting on for HD and plinking. I'm kinda of torn right now, I would like to get this gun, but I have also been looking at getting a Neos for some cheap target shooting. Unfortunatly getting them both is not an option right now :(

Well the CZ40B isnt a hybrid......its a gun CZ was contracted to build by Colt...thus the 1911 styling. Colt recieved about 900 guns and then backed out, leaving CZ with a BUNCH of parts. The sold them under the heading 40B.
The gun is a Colt designed frame/slide with CZ 75B style trigger workings...
It wont take any 1911 anything.......sorry.
I thought about the same thing......but all for not.

Get the gun....they wont be around for long. CZ doesnt make them anymore.
They are a very very very good deal and all they need typically to be a stellar carry is a 20 or 22# Wolff recoil spring for a CZ75B with 3 coils cut off for the shorter slide......

You can get these already made for the 40B through 12VoltMan on this forum.
Holsters are also made for them.....I carry one.

Shoot well........hope this helped.

The CZ-40B, as PCRCCW says, is a great gun.

Almost pure CZ-75, but with a modified barrel and sights, and a more 1011-like grip. Its a double-stack, though, and can use standard CZ mags, which are pretty reasonable.

If you're thinking of a NEOs for plinking, think about a different CZ -- either the full-size 75B, or one of the new compacts. Then you can use the Kadet Kit (.22 conversion kit). They're very accurate. just swap top ends and shoot .22!

(The Kadet kit doesn't work on the CZ-40B...)

(My Kadet kit was about was about as accurate as my Ruger Target Competition slab side, which had a much longer barrel. I traded the Target Competition for a Witness Sport Long Slide in .45, which has proved to be a great "CZ-like" gun, too.)

For SOME the fullsize 75B hi caps for the 9mm work with the 40..and hold 12 rounds. Another option is Witness H/C mags work most of the time. There isnt a mag that I know of that will drop in and work everytime for them. But most do work ....You just use the OEM 40B baseplates and your styling.........

12 rounders

Mec-Gar has some 12 rnd .40 mags that should be available soon.

I ordered a couple from arizona gunrunners a little bit ago.
Been waiting patiently, hopefully they will be in soon; anticpate w/in the next 30 days.

As Eric mentioned. The base plates can be ordered from CZ-USA and should have a 'factory quality' 12 round mag once all the pieces are aquired.
