Got the standard a yr or so back, beech w hog back stock, sights.
Kinda cool.
My 1022 SP was a beater and cooler, but it wouldn't shoot, and Rimfire Sports was always out of the blued GM 20" sporter.
My CZ shot better w no effort, so gone was the 10/22.
Swapped my stock for an American plastic one.
No safe ding worries now, and the comb better for scope.

But...........22 lr bores me.
I mean, grab match ammo and shoot .5" at 50 yards.
Yawn. This w 6X.

I just don't hunt much w .22 lr.

So was thinking, dump it and get a Buckmark Contour 5.5" and reflex sight.

Then it hit me.................the CZ455 can have bbls swapped.
Hmmm, a 20" no sights stainless .22 mag bbl would make it a cool little red fox popper.

Yeah, everybody sold out on bbls LOL

Also have a stock .22lr barrel your welcome to if you dont want to ream yours lol.

My .22lr 455 isn’t what I would call a tac driver but I might be on the picky side.

I did get some ne of their 17 hmr barrels and some ammo to see if it does any better but haven’t gotten around to testing it.

May wind up trying a Lothar Walther or Lilja .22 Lr barrel some day. BTW both also offer 17&22 mag barrels if you can’t find a CZ, then all you need is the magazine.

My CZ .22 barrel holds about 1-1.25 at 50yds, the .17 would shoot .5-.75" groups at 100.

The LW barrel i have on my 457 right now hasnt really been worked over but its .5-.75" @ 50 and i got a couple sub inch groups at 100yds, tho most were 1.5ish.

Some of the dispersion is definitely me tho, I seem to have a hell of a time keeping the Americans stock vertical. Ive noticed ill drop shots left of group if im not paying attention.

I switched to a Varmint stock and even tho its not much different it feels a little more stable....adding the jav mount helps too the harris is nice but hard to get level.

I think this the first time I’ve seen someone be disappointed because their rifle is too accurate

My CZ is about the same with Wolf Match Extra. .5 or maybe better @50 yards is far from unknown. I have 4-14x and that’s with a higher end rest off a really good bench

I like the refinements present on the 457. No bolt/scope interference and the safety goes the right way.

Me too. There are a lot of die hard 452 fans out there, of which I have one. But the 457's are very nice, my bull barreled 17HMR will shoot as good as the particular "lot" of ammo will let it. We really need match grade 17 HMR ammo.

I had a 452 and it was an accurate, beautiful rifle but I couldn't get over those two sticking points. I could've lived with one or the other but not both. I traded it for two 10/22's and later bought a 457 American.

Funny untill i got another Athlon Argos, that was exactly how my 457 was set up when not wearing its "target" gear.

I had a 455 American that I used as a silhouette rifle for a year or two. It was accurate enough for the job. I sold it. I prefer the 452 and have/have had several. I regret selling the ones that I let go of.

I shoot my 455 Trainer 22LR offhand to 100yds at silhouettes. Not boring at all, and then when my son joins me, it's really fun and competitive. He's a good shot, and he challenges me. I also don't mind small groups off a bench from time to time. I call it my "group therapy".

Not selling my CZ 452. I like it just the way it is. To each his own.

Yep.

Since I don't intend to scope my 452 Trainer, the only weirdness left to deal with is the safety. I just pull the safety back with my trigger finger. Easy to think of using the same finger pulling the same direction two separate times to make the gun ready to shoot and then shoot it.
