D, K and N frame weigh the same?

Dunno about the Colt (or whether this is supposed to be a serious thread) but if you make the holes in the K frame the same size as those in the N frame, you'll find that the N frame weighs more.

Having carried some issued revolvers in the waning days of the service revolver, even a 4" K-frame could tip the scales at 40oz loaded. The Pythons and L-frames a bit more, and the N-frame carriers even a bit more, depending on the barrel length. Longer barrels were quite popular among the guys carrying N-frame Smiths (.44's and .45's) in those days, although the females with shorter torsos often went with shorter barrels, even if using drop-shank swivel wheelguns.

Even my older 5 1/2" Redhawk .44 only tipped the scales at a little over 50oz, but the thickness made it a chore when I carried it off-duty IWB.

I love the S&W K-frame Combat Masterpiece (Model 15)
with 4-inch barrel in .38 Special.

But it is the same weight as the larger S&W Model 686 plus
with 2.5 inch barrel in .357.

The round-butted 7-shot 686 is as an easy carry as the
Combat Masterpiece albeit with 1.5 inch lesser barrel.

And I get an extra round in the more powerful .357 over
the .38. Even with just .38s, that extra round is of
great benefit, I believe.
