Firstly, this is all my fault, not the fault of Mueller or Optics Planet, who I bought the sight from online.

Here is the sight:

It was sitting happily on my SIG522 for almost 3000 rounds. I had no issues with it, it was a cheap sight that suited my needs.
A few days ago, I had the rifle stood up against a wall, ready to put it in the safe and I managed to knock it over. I am still kicking myself about this, the rifle was standing in a corner, how do you knock that over? There was no visible damage to any part of the rifle or the sight, so I thought I had got away with it.

Little did I know...the result was that the next time I went to the range, I couldn't even get rounds on paper at 25 yards. I had to bring the target up to 10 yards to get them on paper and make lots of adjustments to get the group central. When I took the target back out to 25 yards I had a group that was several times larger than what I had been expecting from previous range visits, even when the rifle was benched.

I checked the mount, it was rock solid. Tried different ammo, got another dude to test the rifle as he has a similar sight (not the same make though) and the result was the same for him.
He made a good suggestion, which was to check the glass. I found that I could move this glass (not easily, and only a small amount) but I wasn't equipped at the range to see if this mattered.

Took the sight off, brought it home and filmed it while moving the glass:

Look how much that dot moves!

There is no way (that I can see) to get the glass out or restablise it properly at the edges. It looks like the manufacturer installs the glass from the front and then secures it by installing a collar with really strong adhesive also from the front. You cannot even pry that collar out.

The best I could do (because I had nothing to lose and was prepared to buy another sight) was push the glass all the way forward, then place two drops of superglue on the two vertical edges of the glass that face the shooter. from there, I pushed the glass back evenly towards the rear of the housing, my rationale being that the rear of the housing was more likely to represent the proper angle of the glass as opposed to the collar and whatever had been damaged in the region of the collar.

There are now small amounts of glue smears on the edge of the glass but tentative handling indicates it doesn't move.

I mounted the sight on the SIG522 last night and had to rezero it again. Time was short but the group size was back to where it should be, and if this glue holds I may very well have rescued this sight.
When shooting, I don't see those small glue smears at the edge of the glass at all. I was planning on getting those off carefully with rubbing alcohol but really, if it works like this I am happy with it!

Still bitter I dropped it though
