Damaged my scope😡

Definitely unfortunate, but here’s a question for vortex owners; Are you less careful of accidents knowing you have that warranty or the same as if you had a super expensive scope without the blanket warranty ?
Curious.

You sure it didn't happen as you were repelling into a hot zone? :)

I treat most of mine all the same. Some games or activities are rougher on things than others but mistakes happen.

I'd rather bust any optic I had than get hurt though, as long as I didn't need it at that moment to keep from getting hurt.

No, just not as graceful as I was in my younger days. I try to stay off of ladders nowadays. Use to make my living on them and telephone poles. Don’t go Duck hunting by myself anymore either. Tough getting old!!

It's not fun to send something back. I've got three different diamond backs but haven't bashed a scope. Yet

1) I’m just as careful - or just as careless - with all of my gear.

2) Most of the “super expensive scopes” on the market have just as good warranty/customer support as Vortex, they just don’t advertise it as vocally as Vortex or “Vortex Nation,” so the hypothetical experiment kinda falls apart. I WOULD, however, not buy a “super expensive scope” if they didn’t have a similar warranty backing it - too many options to dance with which DO come with that quality of warranty as standard.

NF doesn’t warranty self inflicted as does Vortex, sure they’ll fix it but you may have to write a check for at least a part of the cost.

I didn't have to pay for my ATACR to be fixed when I sent it in - I discovered the windage was slipping, most likely from myself and the previous owner running it into barricades at PRS matches. No, I didn't use the scope as a hammer, but I haven't done so with Vortex optics either.

I wasn’t meaning to derail a thread, but this is the original question.

Yesterday got done cleaning my Savage Desert Tactical 6.5 CM, stumbled on a mat and dropped the rifle. Damaged the elevation turret on my Vortex Viper PST Gen ll. Already on the way back to Vortex. 🤬
Thats a bummer! It does happen tho, I dropped one of my guns on my Midas BTR taking it out of the safe and killed it, fell on a Nikon a while back and crunched it too.

I try not to do dumb stuff with my gear (emphasis on TRY), but it dosent mater if its my 50 dollar simmons thats out of production or 1200 dollar meopta that ive got no idea what they will warranty(with optics i just assume its a you break it we will fix it, unless noted otherwise), they get treated the same.

At $2000 each , I’m pretty careful not to abuse.

Yeah, they are tools to win. Expensive but still tools for a job.

You would cringe at the holster wear on my SV (makes a NF not seem too bad of a price) but all of that wear is part of how I mastered a sport.

In any case the OP didn't have actions that equaled his intensions. Accident and they happen.

Now, lets talk about the plus side of just leaving the dirty rifle in the case...

Its what happens when water falls from the sky all the damn time!

😝 😁

We've got plenty to spare!

Mowing your yard? Don't miss having to do that!

I can't fathom trying to maintain a lawn here, I don't know how people do it. Seems sisyphean to me.
