I've been trying to buy one of these very positively reviewed pieces, but have been unable to find one. Any suggestions? Thanks.

discontinued for 2010 (except for Cali), so hope you find one. the new V-Bob (Valor bobbed commander) is most probably be close to the $1500 mark

try Bud's gunshop.

I was trolling around for one last week.... found a couple of them in GA for sale. I believe they were posted on Guns America. Had a black teflon coated slide, these were the only ones I found. I just picked up my pointman 7 tonight, in desert tan. -wingnut13

I usually really dig CZ/Dan Wesson's aesthetic, direction, etc., but discontinuing the CBOB is just stupid, assuming they were profiting from it. Just about the perfect carry gun IMO (although they should feel free to make a steel-framed CCO in 10mm :)).

i agree, they should have kept it since it was probably their best seller.
with the 2010 lineup all having forged frames, i think they are pricing themselves out of the price area (~$1000) that they were doing so well with

I don't mean to create a panic, but my CBob is the best 1911 I've ever owned, fired, or handled. Amazing gun. It would seem that the VBob for 2010 has a shouldered rear sight, a forged frame, and black grips instead of the gorgeous cocobolo.

I understand the sights, but I don't get the grip change.

Yep. The upcoming stainless (uncoated) Valors sure would look good with them. Cocobolo stocks have gotten so blase, but the ones that DW uses are really nice. Best looking stocks I've seen on a pistol south of the kilobuck.

There's one here, but it's a litte High $$.

My CBOB is a 10MM. I purchased it on GB and I got screwed. I had to have the whole thing redone as it was subjected to what my Smith called "kitchen Table" gunsmithing.
It's all done and much gooder, or is it goodlier, anyhow it's beautiful and it shoots great.

My first trip to the range after getting in back from the Smith. 25 Yards. A little sight adjustment and I'm good to go.

Here's what you do:
First buy a S&W 1911PD:

Then do this to it:

You'll still be under what a Cbob cost.

Here's one more just because she's so pretty. I made the grips.
