OK here's the deal, I've wanted a 10mm for quite a long time now and my choice has boiled down to an RZ-10 and a Pointman 7. The thing is I have absolutely no idea what the difference is between the two. On top of that, the RZ-10 I'm looking at is pre-CZ ($850 "slightly used"). So what're the differences between the two models, particularly pre and post CZ?

The Razorback has fixed sights and a flattened & grooved slide top (Clark style target rib). The Pointman has a Bomar style adjustable rear sight, and no target rib. The pre-CZ and early CZ guns of both models had non-ramped barrels. Recent CZ production of both models uses ramped barrels. The ramped barrel provides much greater case head support: This is necessary if you wish to reload, and is also desirable if you want to shoot full house loads.

That's actually a huge help to me ugaarguy. I do my own reloading and I need something that can handle anything I want to put down the throat of the barrel (for you kinky readers out there I do mean ANYTHING ;) ). But all kidding aside I do need more info to go on and if anyone out there can tell me more I'd love to know.

Well I called up CZ and apparently the only difference between the two is the aesthetic. All internal mechanisms are the same, both frames are cast while both slides are forged. The rest can be looked up on site itself.

Have you looked at the EAA Witness Elite Match in 10mm? It uses 15 round magazines and you can get the mags for around $23 each. The pistol is under $500 + Shipping.

Or if you like the 1911 platform check out Bob Serva (he was the man at Dan Wesson at one time) who is now at Fusion Firearms putting together some beautiful custom fit pistols (1911) in 10mm for both carry and hunting. Being custom you can get any configuration and they are very competitive price wise when compared to other custom guns.

I have looked at EAA and not to offend anyone but I just find them very unattractive. Fusion is a great pistol and I've spoken to Bob himself, however what I'm looking for will take forever to get (I'm from NJ and already have my Pistol Purchase Permit which is only good for three months) and I'm on a limited time scale, plus they're about $200 to $400 more than what I'm looking to spend.
