I just bought a DD Omega 7.0 rail for my 6920, and I am looking for some tips or advice from those who have installed one. How tight should the four Allen screws be? The instructions state "tighten the set screws against the barrel nut until you feel tension. There is no need to over tighten." I'm a technical person so I generally like to know torque specs when working with aluminum or other expensive things. Should I just go a little tighter past the point that the screws make contact with the barrell nut? Can you feel the tension in the rail as the set screws are tightened? Also, does everyone still like using the Omega rail? Any advice from DD Omega rail owners is appreciated.

While I don't have that exact rail, I have installed many that attach in the same manner. None give real good info on how tight is tight. What has worked well for me is a little bit of purple or blue loctite and 15 in/lbs, none have ever come loose. If you don't have a torque wrench that reads in in/lbs, just use the short end of the allen wrench and tighten using just two fingers.

Tighten them down with an allen wrench till it doesn't move using a thumb and finger. When it's tight you'll know. It is not cheap junk that is easy to break. Doesn't require a torque wrench or anything special. Although when tightening and loosening the barrel nut when your torqueing it remember the barrel nut wrench is one direction. You have to flip it over each time you want to go the other way.

Im assuming you mean the dd omega lite and not the omega x. On the x you put the two have together tighen the three screws on each side and snug the allen screws against the face of the barrel nut just enough to take up any play front to back.
