Part of me thinks turning an M4 into a pig/whitetail/varmint gun is a tad silly, but the more I thought about it the more I wanted to keep the stock upper. In HD trim, this DD M4V3 wears an Aimpoint PRO and the OEM DD BUIS.
That set up is great for HD, but I wanted to mount some nice glass without losing the HD nature of this rig. I need a QD mount that absolutely holds zero. I had a Leupold Vari-XIII, 4x14.5x40 AO, Varmint Reticle, gathering dust. It was meant to be on this upper...
Enter the American Defense RECON SW 20 MOA, QD mount. I did a lot of homework before settling on this mount, and I am not disappointed after getting it all mounted up. Nicely made, and seems to lock-up like a vice.
The mil-spec OEM trigger was not conducive to shooting groups, so I had Primary Arms toss a CMC 3.5lb trigger in with the order. Holy cow! This trigger is excellent. Clean, crisp, and with the straight blade it breaks the same regardless of finger location. Very happy with it.
