For the first time in my memory, the dove season was split here in the Northern Zone of Texas. Our lease runs until Feb. 1, so the first day of the 2nd half of the season is December 26, and we are going dove hunting. Dove season opens in September here, and that means it is usually hotter'n Hades. It is supposed to be 40 degrees Saturday morning, so it should be a fun new experience.

Family over for Christmas dinner, a nice fire in the fireplace, and dove hunting on the day after. Yay!

Merry Christmas all.

Sounds like a day you won't want to sleep late a lounge around. I would like dove season to be cooler here as well. Tell us what shotgun you are going to use.

i myself went the day after xmas too! took 4 doves out of about 30 rounds! still had fun.......havent shot in a year. used my ole 1187sp!!dad spent the day missing with his....

while i was in the field under a powerpole , 14 or so turkeys came out about 50 yards to my right to feed and were workin towards me, till i shot at a dove......and same spot that afternoon i had a spike and a doe come out the same spot in the woods and walk right in front of me about 30 yards away. wished i had some buckshot on me at that point as we are in a either sex season right now
