Picked up a dayton trigger on ebay that was labeled for a enfield. I dropped my neighbors 1917 out of the stock to swap triggers today. It doesn't seem to line up, the sear is much too short. It's 0.964" from the center of the pin hole to the face of the sear.

Anybody have any idea what this trigger fits? 20240207_204710.jpg 20240207_192131.jpg 20240207_204730.jpg

Could it be intentionally designed that way to have a shorter striker throw for faster lock time?
Maybe? It doesn't appear to line up with the hole for the sear thru the tang. I would like to hear from someone who has installed one before I start removing metal.

You can see the difference when they are stacked onto of each other.
