Deactivate a live round?

It actually was a waste of my time to read all this drama about a bullet seated to deep. Simple answer, if you can't shoot it, throw the fricking thing away.

I've done this a few times and it worked...

If it's a longer cartridge that will extend past the die hole threads, you can use a single stage press with the brass in the correct shell holder. Raise the ram and brass through the opening and use a pliers or side cutters and grab the bullet and raise the handle pulling out the bullet.
<maybe?> :D

It works sometimes....depends on the cartridge and bullet..!

I'm not sure I like the hacksaw idea. Pair of diagonal cutters should work.

Worst case, burry in a damp location.

If I have a crimped round I will seat it slightly deeper BEFORE using the kinetic puller. Works 99% of the time for me.

I use a 4ft section of 4x4 post for my bullet puller.
Stood it up right and smacked the puller on the of the
post. In 40+ years of loading I had only 1 round I couldn't pull.

Those kenetic bullet pullers give me the willies. There's something stupid about whacking a live round against anything. I like the idea of cutting the case with a pair of dikes, pouring out the powder, and throwing the case in the trash. So I'll go with medalguy, Winner winner chicken dinner!

A kinetic puller works when the bullet continues to travel once the case has stopped. I use a hard lead ingot with my puller, and it works just as good for me as smacking the floor (concrete). The lead is hard enough to work without cushioning the blow, and besides, it's quieter. Like said above, if the bullet went in, without any abnormal pressure, it will come out.

I have taken 100's of cartridges apart using a kinetic puller.

If in fact they were really dangerous the lawyers and judicial system would have swallowed them up years ago.

Whack it harder. :uhoh:

This one is good, as well as cutting/snipping with dikes.
I know the very first time I used a kinetic puller I was affraid
I was going to break the darn thing. On concrete, not a bench.
I sweep any debris off the concrete so I don't hit a piece of gravel
or such that could concentrate the force and damage the puller.

Nothing heard from the OP since Dec. 17????

I hope he didn't blow himself up with a hammer puller whacking it harder.
