So, what do you guys think, is this a deal worth bragging about?

For a while now, I have batted around the idea of getting a Sig P238. Lately, they have been very hard to come by locally. When they can be found locally, they tend to sell quickly at full retail price.

A friend also wanted a Sig P238 so he had a local gun store order him a Sig P238 Equinox model. He prefers to buy directly from local gun stores, rather than ordering online, even though he can save a pretty penny going the online route. The Sig P238 Equinox has an MSRP from Sig of $699 and he paid $685 by going the retail route.

Okay, enough about him and now onto my deal.

I was dead set on ordering mine online, as I have seen the base models (MSRP $645) online from places like Buds for around $465. My local shop is owned and operated by a good friend that gives me great deals, when he can on new and used items and does transfers for me on new items that he can't get from his distributors/manufacturers as cheap as the high volume dealers. I dropped to see him about doing the transfer and, low and behold, he had just taken in a used Sig P238 Custom Shop SAS model (MSRP $735) that looked absolutely brand new and unfired. The barrel didn't have even a single grain of powder in it. He said he was going to price it at $595 but would let me have it for $495, if I was interested. I jumped on it.

So what do you guys think? Did I do good?

Not bad at all. The last gun show up this way had several p238s up for sale, and the lowest price I remember seeing was about $500. And that one was definatly used. Congratulations on the nice puchase.
