I haven't had a 22 Mag in years and am looking to get a new one.
This will be gun that will be carried around, not shot from the bench much.
The perfect gun would be a CZ 457 Scout in 22 Mag but I don't think they make them...
All their other options either don't have a threaded barrel (not completely critical) or they have 25" barrels.

I didn't know a suppressor would work with the high speed of a 22 mag round. I have two of the older Marlin bolt action 22 mags, a 783 and an 883 with wood stock on the 783 and laminate on the 883 and think they are just great guns.

If I wanted what you are after I would buy one of the Ruger American 22 mags and add a Boyd's wood stock to it. IIRC they can be had with a threaded barrel. Give it a try and you may actually like the factory stock. I have an American in 243 and the plastic stock is head and shoulders better than the plastic stock that came on the Remington ADL and far better than the absolute junk that came on the Savage 223 I had. What a joke that stock was.

The Ruger looks like a perfect field grade rifle with the matt finish and plastic stock. And use the excellent Ruger rotary mags.

I tried both my 22lr silencers on my 22wmr, both spit out bullets that started tumbling after about 12 feet.
The 1:16 twist isn't fast enough to stabilize the bullet through the chaotic turbulence inside the silencer. A 5.56 silencer works just fine. A 9mm silencer works, bullet stays ballistic but it's kinda loud. A 5.7x28 rated one should work, but 5.7x28 standard barrel twist is 1:9. My gemtech sfn (the FN fiveseven silencer) is a little bigger than a standard but kind of small 22lr silencer.
I would try the sfn on a 22wmr, but it's got 10x1mm threads.
I think the ideal 22wmr silencer would be a "9mm" sized silencer punched out for 22cal. 5.56 silencers work and are quiet but they are big, heavy and expensive.

I have a Savage B22 in a poly stock and it's an absolute tack driver. They also offer the same rifle in a couple different hardwood stocks; here's one with a 21 in barrel:

I think I'd like this one even better because of its comb and forestock. I'm guessing a 25 in barrel is going to be pretty hard to find. You're talking serious centerfire there, aren't you?
