My friend and his other half from Anacortes WA came back to Upstate New York with me for two weeks to hunt deer and to go see a couple of sights. (The Liberty Bell and the Statue of Liberty).
They rented a basic primitive hunting camp on two acres surrounded by a whole lot of State Land.
We walked the woods right behind the cabin down to the seasonal limited road . It was a mile hike. We seen a set of semi fresh bear tracks and lots of deer sign.
Across the road we walked to the state land extended way in to that big area. Plus across the road of the cabin is lots of state land.
First day Ed got a small deer then his other half got a deer on the 3rd day shortly after her deer Ed shot a nice small racked 8 point.
The next morning I shot a nice doe. The following day my brother shot a spike buck.
We have been seeing a lot of deer but the only shooting opportunities was at very small deer so they are getting a free pass to see next year.
We could of shot atleast fifteen small deer. There were three today we let go.
They flew back to Seattle Tuesday afternoon and took 120 pounds of venison with them.
We have my brother's spike buck to cut up. I promised a friend the next deer we harvest. When we get another after the next one I'll take some of that one back with me.
I'm looking for some properties to buy for a hunting camp.
