The (Unnamed Agency) has obtained open source information on a purported new
DeWalt nail gun that is capable of firing two inch nails in rapid succession from a
distance of 200 yards.

The (Unnamed Agency) has confirmed with a representative of Black
and Decker (parent company of the DeWalt brand) that this “nail gun” is NOT a
DeWalt product. The equipment described is an authentic, fully functional M-16
assault rifle.

The following picture of the “nail gun” bears a striking resemblance to the M-
16 military assault rifle This picture, along with the accompanying text, is quickly
making its way through the internet, appearing on web logs (or “blogs”), websites and emails:

“It can drive a 6-D nail thru a 2 X 4 at 200 yards. This makes construction a real breeze…you can sit in your lawn chair and build a fence. Just get the wife and kids to hold the fence boards in place while you sit back, relax with a cold beer, when they have the board in the right place just fire away. With the hundred round magazine, you can build a fence with a minimum of reloading.

After a day of fence building with the new DeWalt Rapid fire nail gun, the wife will not ask you fix or build anything else. Available for a little more is the "band-aid magazine" for those near misses when fence building.”

Additional research shows the unconfirmed creator of this “M-16 nail gun” modified an existing M-16 rifle and replaced the stock, grip and guard with yellow colored parts and encased part of the magazine in an empty battery casing commonly used by power tools. For added effect, the creator also used stickers bearing the DeWalt brand logo.

To date, the (Unnamed Agency) has not received any reports of an “M-16 nail gun” being used in any crimes or acts of violence. While the legality of firearm modifications varies by jurisdiction and weapon type, a person misrepresenting the weapon as a nail gun should be considered a threat to general public safety. Law enforcement officers who contact individuals in possession of the “M-16 nail gun” should approach with caution and disarm the individual before proceeding.

I WANT ONE!!!

Makes me remember that 80's movie "Real Men" where James Belushi builds a full auto nail gun out of household items in John Ritter's garage and proceeds to literally nail terrorists :)

The pictures should show up in the original post, in case you can't see them here they are as attachments.

Dewalt!!!!!!!!!!

WOW. That could be really handy. Would that be for "bill collecting"???? Could be a real nice addon to the tool collection!

"The proper tool for the job"

Might have been handy immediately post Katrina - Yes sir officer, just going out to fix up the neighborhood.

Curious

Since everything else is made in China was this unit manufactured in DeWalt assembly plant in China. Or did Dewalt open a new plant in North America someplace.

I was going to say that I wanted a Milwaukee Tool version, but I'm not sure that those are made in Milwaukee anymore, I know that some of their stuff is made in Taiwan....

That's hilarious. Is that furniture painted yellow or was it actually molded in that color?
It's molded, you can get all kinds of wild colors for AR furniture.

I can't afford a DeWalt but maybe Makita will come out with a blue one :) with the $10,000 giggle switch.
