I was down at Myrtle last week when My son and I hit the local gun shops. We walk into the Dicks pawn in North Myrtle and walk up to the gun counter and see a very nice condition 1949 MAS bolt rifle for $189. A "emploee" walks over and asks if he can help us with any thing and I said sure, can I take a look at that MAS you have there. He says "where ar you from" I said New York but I have a C&R. He then says "I cant sell you anything if you are from NY or New Jersy California..." I that point I said Iv bought guns from around the country on my C&R, its just like a FFL to FFL transferr, and with that I show him a copy of the 03. He then says in a sarcastic know it all tone "I know what a C&R is" at that point I grabed my C&R out of his hands as he was looking at it and told the son lets go, Im not going to wast my money here.
Dicks Pawn has 3 shops with guns in Myrtle and hires an AH to work the gun counter. If the guy just said it is store policy not to sell to C&R holders, I would have been fine with that but this guys attitude was flat out offensive and ignorent to pool me with all those states AFTER I told him I have a C&R. Other shops have also been less than informed on C&R transferrs. I used to be a 01 dealer and you would think a dealer would INVITE a C&R sale since its no NICS and 50+ year old military guns should be a no brainer. I always excuse my self from a purchase when I see a dealer get nervice at the thought of a C&R sale but this dope realy got my goat!:fire:

I know where I won't be buying any hunting ammo this year. My grandfather and I *used* to hit up Dick's every fall before we head out for deer and whatever.

you would think that but in the 6 years i've had my c&r thats not been the case. i know of two pawns shops within 200 miles of me that will accept a c&r lic.
