Did you ever?

I have forgotten mags and ammo.
However I have found 2 rifles and a pistol at different ranges.
A guy was shooting an AR that had a very nice ACOG and after he left I saw it sitting on the bench.
Got his name from the sign in sheet and contacted him. He came back pretty quickly to get it.
The other 2 I found at a club I belonged to. Nobody at the range when I arrived and nobody came while I was there. Contacted the club Secretary and they told me the owner had reported them missing.
He left them the day before I found them.
Took them to the club meeting that night. Received a nice bottle in return.

I don't use any shooting bags for general travel bags. Though I'm considering taking my backpack out to the range and setting it next to me on the bench so I can get a buncha powder residue on it. Then see if they have to do a swab check next time I fly...

You might be surprised when nothing happens.
The airport would come to a standstill on the 4th of July.
When I worked on the explosive scanners at the airport I was surprised at what they do not detect.
