That would be a good thing. My Lee has a long tapered insert and you don't get the "wasp waist" affect. There was a recent quote mentioning RCBS carbide dies having a proper, tapered carbide insert for 9mm Luger.
Good question. This Dillon die backorder has been going on for at least 2 years. Can someone explain how the other carbide die manufacturers have resources to continue production without a hitch?
Is there an advantage to using Dillon dies....over say...Lee carbide dies?
They're typically quicker than the expectation they set in my experience, except when it comes to carbide sizing diesIt's quite clear that Dillon isn't overly concerned about meeting their published lead-times.
Check your PM'sWell, I went ahead and cancelled the Dillon order for 45 Auto Dies. When I ordered, I was told the lead-time was 4-5 months. I called after 6 months, and they said maybe another month. Well, I called today and they said it could take up to 6 months. It's already been 7 months. No apologies. Enough of it. They claim to have problems getting carbide, but Hornady, RCBS, Redding, Lyman, Lee have no such problems/excuses. Sorry for the rant, but I think it fair to warn others about Dillon's practice with lead-times, and their seeming lack of concern when they fail to meet them.

I may be able to help.
