I been using a crescent wrench for a die wrench for quite a while. It got me buy. Came across this sale and ordered something a little nicer than a Crescent wrench for my Dillon 550C.

Had the Dillon stamped wrench, which is pretty much worthless.
Bought a big, forged wrench, and ground off the excess so that it would fit in among the other dies.
This sounds like a nice idea. Hope it is indeed tough enough not to spread like the Dillon.

Because I have read the reviews on a Dillon die wrench. That's why I am still using a crescent wrench.

I bought a deep socket (1/2" drive), it fits between the dies.

Sockets can work on Dillon dies if the hair pin clips are removed. I prefer not to remove the hair pin clips.

I have found the Dillon wrench to be useful, it will flex a bit...
I ordered this wrench (because of @frogfurr 's post) because it looks as it won't flex......we will see...

BTW, Dillon's newer dies have smaller OD die nuts; which size does this one fit?

I calipered my Dillon die nuts across the flats at .940".

I have the Dillon wrenches and find them more than adequate for the task.

It is nice that they fit between the dies.

OK I'm off work now and had a chance to look at it. It's laser cut steel 1/4" thick. Heavy duty and not a stamping.
