Hi guys,

I used to run a a Dillon XL650 reloading press, but I haven't reloaded in a few years and the press has been in storage. I pulled the press out this morning, and set it up, and it's a mess.

So far as I can tell, it appears the station one locator is damaged, the shoulder washer on the failsafe rod is broken, the rotary primer disk is out of sync and won't rotate, and the decapping pin is bent.

I know Dillon has this famous "No BS" warranty that I've heard about, but I can't find anything from Dillon specifically describing it or how to take advantage of it. I'll call tomorrow, but I'm wondering if you guys can give me an idea of what to expect. Should I expect Dillon take the whole machine back and essentially refurbish it for me, or do I have to break it down and send back the individual parts I've found broken?

Thanks so much!

What you can expect is "no BS" from them in getting your press back up and running.

You could send it to them and they will repair it, but that will cost a lot for you to ship it both ways. Or you can repair it yourself if you are familier enough with it to know what you need.

Give them a list of parts and they will send them to you with no hassles. They will help you over the phone with any tech support.

Tony,

I have a Dillon SDB I purchased used a few years ago, and not knowing if it was working ideally (my first foray into metallic cartridge reloading), I sent it back to them to be refurbished. I don't recall what they charged me, but it was really nominal to refurbish it (well less than $100). When I got it back, I set it up and began reloading and haven't looked back. Since then I needed a small part or two (I bunged up, my fault), and they just sent it out, no charge.

Since then they've made their money back by me purchasing three more sets of handgun dies! Great product, and great people.

No BS really does mean no BS. I lost two presses in a house fire about six years back. Dillon replaced them, free of charge. I covered the cost of shipping the ruined presses and they covered all costs to get new ones to my door. Truly an outstanding company!

They will treat you right. I have lost parts and called them and told them that I was at fault and they sent me the parts....no questions asked.

Same situation as Kerreckt. I broke a small part or two, and called to order some new ones and told them it was my fault (wasn't trying to get anything for free), and they said don't worry, and they just sent them out for no charge.

And here's where they'll make their money back. Due to the current administration, I am now considering getting into reloading .223, and the only press I'm considering due to the excellent performance of my SDB and their great cust. service is a Dillon (maybe a 550).

My experience is really no "BS". Call them, be honest with them, tell them what you need. They will do you right. You'll be impressed! Lightman

I turned into a klutz one late night and bounced a powder measure across the concrete floor of my garage. The clear container broke off of the metal base. I called Dillon, told them what happened and asked how much it was going to cost me. Response "What is your address so we can ship you one." I replied that it was my fault and they said "So?"
Great company and no B.S. means no B.S.

Again, no BS from Dillon. I can't say enough about their service. They are one of the few companies I recommend unconditionally.

I have one of the first SDB's in .45ACP; It has been lent out to fellow club members, others from my work, and half the neighborhood around here. Well, last year, and what I honestly can say has been OVER ONE MILLION rounds, it started to get loose in several places and needed a factory overhaul. I had replaced some of the bushings several times, but at this point needed to send it it. When I called Dillon, they were eager to actually see it, so in it went, in it's original box. A short time later it came back, looking like most everything had been replaced and upgraded, all with NO CHARGE! Now, how can a company do that? Simple. By standing behind a product they will have a few folks like me crowing about it.

Agree, they sent me a whole 550B upgrade, everything I had not upgraded was mailed to me free, now my 550 is brand new basically. Best customer service from any company in any industry.

If I ever get a dillan I.hope it breaks and I have trouble wwith their CS.

Then there can be a post talking had about dillans CS.

useless signiture

You can call them and ask for a cleaning/Tunning. I sent a 550 back that I got from a guy that hadn't been used in about 10 years, and was stored in a shed. It was horrible. Dillon said for $70 they would clean it and get it back in factory condition. I mailed it out to them ($20) along with a list of parts I knew I needed but then some other parts I wanted (like parts to conversions kits and such). In about 3 or 4 weeks, my 550 was returned and dang near everything on it was brand new. They replaced every item on my list and then some, and NEVER even sent me a bill. They didn't even charge me the original $70 they quoted me or for the extra parts that I asked for.

I priced everything out and it would have cost me about $260 for all the parts.

I am blue for life

I have owned a Dillon RL550B since 1994 and have loaded about 150,000 rounds on it. It has been back for service twice.

No BS.

So I've been trying to call for about a week now, and the number is always busy, every time I call. I've tried both the (800) number and the local (480) number. I suppose their customer service and warranty is only as good as their willingness to pick up the phone...

I bought a used square deal press some time ago. It needed work, some , some bearings were shot ,and other part were just worn out. Sent it to dillon, they replaced everything, made it like new, and paid the shipping back.
Not to many company's do this. When I can afford it , I will buy a 550 b.
Great American company.

To quote what I was told when I got my 550b "If it's blue and says Dillon on the side they'll take care of it."

A part warped on my 20 yr old 550.
My fault, I over tightened it & warped it.

No BS - they replaced it FOC (free of charge)

When I got the part, I couldn't figure out how to get the old one off, so I called tech support & they told me step by step as I was doing it.
I even had to set the phone down a couple of times so I could use both hands.

It runs better now than when it was brand new.

dillon like everyone else is got a lot of things back-ordered and I would imagine their phones are ringing off the hook so patience will probably be needed at the moment to reach them, but I have nothing but great things to say about them

Email always works for me. I've been blue since 1984 and they still respond with the same no BS attitude as if I'd just bought it yesterday. I always offer to pay (by this point, some things are just plain wearing out from use) but I haven't spent a nickel on replacement parts in all this time. I did have to pay to ship them a worn out powder measure system so they could determine what it might need to fix it. The result was an entirely new and updated system complete with extra charge bars. That was last year... maybe the year before.
Send them an email. They will respond. If you can't get it nailed down in the email, they'll call you when they catch their breath.
