If ceiling space is an issue with the case feeder go with the Jr mount with a 1/2" plywood spacer between the mount, and bench top. This will give you 6.5" of bench top clearance. I went this rout myself since I only had 91.5" from floor to ceiling, and 37" bench. http://inlinefabrication.com/collections/dillon/products/ultramount-jr
InLine Fabrication all the way!! I have 2 of them and they are great stands.
I originally bought the "Jr" 6" model but found that besides the press hanging out over the front of the bench, I had to constantly bend over to see what I was doing (and I'm a short 5"8"). I ordered the 9" version and what an improvement! Now my press is located back away from the edge (no more dropping and losing stuff on the floor) but the biggest benefit for me.... no more bending over.
I can’t use a Strong Mount because the ceiling in my reloading shed is to low, as it is I only have about 16 inches above the case feeder. However I do think that widening the bolt pattern will improve the stability and strength considerably.
I did notch out the bench and mounted the press straddling a 2x4 brace with a 4x4 leg directly under it.
I have a 650 with the 650 strong mount. In line was not a choice when I got into this - so no comment. I did build the bench around the total height. In short - the bench top is located where the 650 and strong mount should be when I am standing at the bench.
I started with a finished height (handle height), and worked backwards to a bench height. Figure out where you want your handle to be in your normal reloading position (standing or sitting) - mount your press accordingly.
Thanks for the information. I actually ordered a Dillon 550 mount for my 650. I built a very sturdy bench, but I didn't leave any overhang. Therefore, I had to mount my 650 above the bench or my handle would have been hitting the front of the bench. Height is not an issue as I have 8' ceilings in the room where I put my bench.
