over the last couple of months been trying differant loads of H4895 in my rem 700, with 168 gr match kings, What I found out I can get .7in 5 rd groups at 100 yards using 42.5 grs in REM brass and .7 in 5 rd groups using 41 grs in WIN brass. Is this possible? in both cases the other brass loaded with these loads gave me 1.4 in groups.

Yep, that's what load development is all about. Change one of the variables (powder, primer, case, bullet, bullet seating depth, etc.), and the load shoots differently.

brass can make a difference, thats why when using rem or win its best to weight each case and sort into lots by weight. The brass will change with each reloading. I had one lot of brass that was very accurate the first 2 or 3 loadings, the neck had more wall thickness than normal , then the accuracy went away. I keep records of loading data right down to the neck diameter of the loaded rounds. What caused the accuracy change was from the expander button working the brass, the brass neck wall thickness got thinner. This left more slop(flrs) in the chamber on firing, less accuracy. Now using bushing dies.

The brass from various makers has different wall thickness, and web depth. They all have a different volume because of this. The change in powder capasity will alter your load somewhat. That is the reason for the warning to use the same components as the manual for developing your loads. Pressure often will vary as well, so max loads should not be jumped into without starting lower and slowly increasing the charge.
Useing different case brands and working up is normally no problem and often shows a better combination for your rifle as you have found. Now you need a chrono to see which is the faster load or if they run the same.;)

When you pull the trigger on your gun and the primer sets off the powder. Remember for a split second the cases expand then contract a little. more to it they expand. The rate of the expansion will determine the overall accuracy of the bullet. Same time cheap brass if it splits seers or anything else when you pull the trigger the pressure speed and accuracy will suffer. So different brass will give different results.
